Valley Care Hospital Christmas Tree Lane Fundraiser

This annual fundraising event is a great way to kick off the holiday season at the Palm Event Center at the Mitchell Katz Winery. J.D. Power Reports High Satisfaction with BMW Financial Services NA, LLC

High levels of dealer satisfaction means more lender business J.D. Power report Automotive finance providers that achieve high levels of satisfaction among dealers generally receive a larger share of business from those dealerships, according to the J.D. Power and Associates 2008 Dealer Financing Satisfaction Study released today. Meanwhile, BMW Financial Services ranks highest in all four segments examined in the study.

The study investigates automotive dealer satisfaction with finance providers in four segments: prime retail credit; retail leasing; subprime retail credit; and floor planning. It examines five key factors that contribute to satisfaction within the prime retail credit, retail leasing and subprime retail credit segments: provider offering; credit personnel; application/approval process; termination policy/service; and sales representative relationship. Four factors are measured in the floor planning segment: provider offering; floor plan support personnel; inventory process; and process/service.

The study finds that as dealers become more satisfied with a lender, they allocate a larger volume of their business to that lender. Some aspects of financing service that are particularly important to maximizing dealer satisfaction are the ability to interact with a single credit buyer, short application approval times and expedient funding. Within the prime retail credit segment, dealers who are "delighted" with their lender provide the lender with 53 percent of the loan originations generated at the dealership, on average, while dealers who report being merely "satisfied" provide lenders with 40 percent. In contrast, however, dealers who are "dissatisfied" with their lender give their lender only 26 percent of their business, on average

"Dealer satisfaction with automotive lenders clearly impacts the volume of retail business a lender receives," said Rich Howse, senior director of the automotive finance practice at J.D. Power and Associates. "With more than 20,000 dealerships in the U.S., the potential revenue linked to increasing satisfaction can translate to billions of dollars. For instance, in the prime retail credit segment, the difference between just one dealer who indicates they are 'delighted' and one who indicates they are 'dissatisfied' can mean an average of more than $3 million in additional loan originations in one year."

The study also finds that developing the dealer-lender relationship becomes particularly important given the current economic struggles and market turmoil. Within the floor planning segment, 44 percent of dealers report that the relationship with a lender is their primary reason for selecting a provider. Similarly, the dealer-lender relationship is cited most often as the primary reason for choosing a finance provider in the subprime retail credit segment.

"In today's tough times, automotive lending priorities may be focused on the issues of liquidity and risk rather than dealer satisfaction, but lenders cannot afford to miss the growth opportunity tied to dealer satisfaction," said Howse. "Dealers recognize those lenders that make the effort to partner with them for the long haul, so building and maintaining strong relationships with dealers will be the foundation of future revenue growth as the industry rebounds."

BMW Financial Services ranks highest in all four segments examined in the study: prime retail credit; retail leasing; subprime retail credit; and floor planning. The 2008 Dealer Financing Satisfaction Study is based on responses from 4,770 dealer principals who were surveyed March through July 2008.

BMW Z4 Roadster--Customer Testimonial to East Bay BMW's General Manager

Dear Donna,

First, I would love to compliment you on your Internet site. I really wasn't looking to buy a new car as my 325i was only 2 years old. But, you know how it is to go shopping! I was looking for a Z4 (yes, it's my mid-life crisis!) and I logged on to your certified pre-owned list and fell in love with a red Z4. Whoever you have taking pictures and displaying your autos deserves big kudos from me! The displays were absolutely beautiful.

Well, once I saw the red Z4, I talked my husband into taking me for a motorcycle ride and it just happened to be in your area so, I asked him to stop by to see it. Honestly, I had no intention of really buying it, I just wanted to see it. We stopped by this past Monday and met with Jay. My husband, Dave, took it for a test ride. As I was in my motorcycle clothes and it's just a hassle to breath in them, let alone try to get into a sports car, I passed on a test ride. But, the fever was building. I came back on Tuesday and was greeted by John Wolff.

Wow, you really have a great salesman in John! He really doesn't live up to the bad reputation of a car salesman. He was professional, courteous, very knowledgeable, personable, funny, entertaining and extremely helpful. We negotiated a little on Tuesday but there were some issues we needed to work out (such as talking my husband into letting me buy it!). I called John on Tuesday evening because I was concerned about a service issue, I wanted to be sure my Blackberry was going to integrate with the car, wanted the price to come down a little, etc. First thing Wednesday morning John called me with the answers. He had taken his own Blackberry and set it up to be sure mine would work. He handled the service issue with the service department and gave me the good news the price was dropped. I was so impressed he called me back with such promptness and knowledge. I absolutely love great customer service. So, it was a deal I really wanted.

I came back to the dealership that afternoon so I could get up to speed with the functions of the car. John spent a lot of time with me teaching me the functions. I was amazed he really knew the car, inside and out. I purchased my 325i from Neda in Beverly Hills however, John was the most knowledgeable salesman, negotiator and teacher all in one and I really appreciated him spending so much time teaching me. My husband and I both really enjoyed his service and appreciated his honest integrity thought the process.

Once the finance part of the deal was ready, we had the pleasure of working with John French. As John and my husband are both motorcycle enthusiasts, we all got along great. John was very helpful, entertaining and made the finance part of the deal very enjoyable. Then, he asked us to wait, and came back to give us a couple of key fobs. Wow, that was great and we appreciated his kindness.

By the time we were done with finance, it was nearly 8 pm. I know John Wolff was supposed to be off by 4 and he was still there waiting for us and surprised us with the mats for the car. I honestly was amazed.

The part of the evening that I think I was most amazed with was John Wolff's courtesy in introducing Dave and I to Ray Briones. I'm not sure why this impressed me so much, but I was. I guess it was like bringing us into the Hendrix Auto family and I was genuinely touched by this gesture. It was late, I'm sure John wanted to get home, and yet he took the time to introduce us to his sales manager. And Ray was very kind, and told Dave and I that when we bring the car in for service to be sure and stop by to tell him hello. As Dave and Ray both own Ducati's, there was another nice bond formed.

Donna, I will tell everyone this story of what a GREAT experience we had with East Bay BMW, from the Internet, to John Wolff, to John French, to Ray Briones. You should be very proud of your staff and honored to have such dedicated, loyal and knowledgeable professionals working with you.. Please be sure to let each of these gentlemen know how much we appreciated everything and also please give your Internet person our compliments. BMW Advanced Diesel Received 2008 world Green Car Award

East Bay BMW is proud to announce that BMW Advanced Diesel has received the 2008 World Green Car award. The prestigious World Green Car Trophy is displayed at BMW North America's corporate headquarters in Woodcliff Lake, NJ. A replica will soon be on display at East Bay BMW in Pleasanton.

The BMW 118d with efficient dynamics, a compact hatchback powered by a 4 cylinder diesel putting out 143 hp was named the World Green Car of the Year at New York Auto Show. Marketwatch reports, "the diesel-powered hatchback claims mileage of more than 50 miles per gallon". Easier Motoring adds, "to be eligible for the 2008 World Green Car award, a vehicle had to be available in at least one major market during 2007." The 118d is sold in Europe. It also had to travel more than 47 miles per gallon, feature technologies specifically designed to increase fuel economy or decrease emissions and meet or exceed strict new tailpipe emissions requires in Europe and the U.S.

The BMW Advance Diesel technology used in the 118d which won the award is the same technology used in the 335d and X5 diesel models that will be arriving at East Bay BMW in Pleasanton soon. In short, I can't think of anything that could have gone better, and I will unhesitatingly recommend East Bay BMW to anyone I know who is even thinking about buying a BMW. It's been 14 years since I bought my last BMW at East Bay BMW, but I don't think it will be quite as long before the next one.
